Contractor websites
Contractor and trades website design
A contractor's website has a narrower job than most. Somebody's heat is out at 10 p.m., or a storm took shingles off, or a lot needs clearing before a closing date. They are on a phone, they are not browsing, and they will call whoever makes it easiest.
What actually matters on a trades site
- The phone number, above everything else. Click-to-call at the top of the page, not buried in a footer.
- Speed on a bad connection. A site that takes six seconds on a cracked phone screen in a flooded basement has already lost the call.
- Proof you are real. License numbers, service area, years in business, and photographs of finished work.
- Emergency availability, stated clearly, if you offer it. This is the single most valuable line on a lot of trades sites.
- Your service area in plain words, so somebody in Havelock or Vanceboro knows whether to bother calling.
Two builds you can look at
R.D. Zinni Heating & Cooling — Conshohocken, PA
A no-heat call at 10 p.m. is a phone call, not a browsing session. Emergency service and the call button sit above everything else on the page, and nothing on the way down competes with them.
Lucas Land Services — Ernul, NC
Heavy equipment work photographs well and sells itself, so the whole site was built around the photos, with the quote request never more than one tap away.
Both are linked from the work section on the homepage.
Which package fits a contractor
If you are a one-truck operation getting most of your work by referral, the $300 Starter Site covers what you need: one page, your services, your photos, and a call button. It ends the situation where somebody Googles your name and finds nothing.
If you want to be found by people who have never heard of you — searching "HVAC repair New Bern" rather than searching your company name — you want the $1,500 Working Site. Separate pages for separate services are what gives search engines something to rank, and it includes the Google Business Profile connection and on-page SEO that the Starter Site does not.
The $4,500 Signature Site makes sense when the job size justifies it — remodels, new system installs, land work — and the site has to carry the first impression before you ever meet the customer.
Photos
Phone photos are usually fine once they are edited properly, and most contractors have hundreds already. If you are on a Signature Site I will direct a shoot so you end up with images you can use on trucks, cards, and social too.
I do not promise rankings, lead volume, or revenue. Search engines and ad platforms are outside anyone's control. What I promise is a site that loads fast, works on a phone, says what you do, and makes it easy to call you.
Local to the trades here
I am in New Bern and most of the live work is in Craven County and the surrounding area — River Bend, Trent Woods, Bridgeton, Ernul. I will meet you at the shop or the job site for the intake if that is easier than a phone call, and I take work anywhere in the country.
Tell me what you do
Thirty minutes on the phone or in person, and I write the site from that conversation. You do not have to write anything.
